Rooted in our devotion to Christ, we unite as Brothers and Sisters in Faithful fellowship to serve those in need–locally and globally. We empower one another through faith and action: mentoring our youth, honoring our veterans, protecting sacred spaces and preserving the legacy of Templar heritage. Together, we stand as stewards of compassion, courage, and enduring tradition.
Priory of the Christian Shield San Diego is a chapter of the Autonomous Grand Priory of the United States of America (GPUSA), a Christian chivalric order inspired by the ideals of the Knights Templar. We serve and protect Christians in need, following a tradition that stretches back to the Crusades.
Originally focused on safeguarding pilgrims in the Holy Land, the Order’s mission has evolved. Today, the Priory of the Christian Shield provides humanitarian aid locally and abroad. We are dedicated to those who wish to defend their faith and live by Christian principles through service to others.

We honor the rich history of the Knights Templar, but our mission goes beyond lineage. We aim to emulate their core values in a modern context.
Two important principles guide us. First, we strive to safeguard Christians in need, particularly in the Holy Land and the Middle East where the Christian presence faces challenges. We offer support and protection to the most vulnerable. Second, we promote open access. Just as the original Knights Templar ensured safe passage for pilgrims, we believe Jerusalem should remain a welcoming destination for all people of faith.
Our Guiding Principles
Faith, Hope, and Charity are our guiding lights. We aspire to serve faithfully, embodying the spirit of Psalm 115:1: “Not unto us, Oh Lord, not unto us, but to Thy Name be given glory.”
Extending a helping hand is another core principle. We offer support to the less fortunate, including the poor, sick, and those facing injustice. We champion freedom of speech and stand against oppression. Finally, we embrace chivalry, upholding its noble ideals while preserving the history and legacy of the Knights Templar.
